God’s Promise
This story is about Noah saying thank you.
The child will learn that:-
- God always keeps His promises.
- Just as God looked after Noah and his family, God has promised to never leave those who trust Him and follow Him.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.
Opening Activity
- Give the child an example of a time when somebody made you a promise.
- Ask the child if anyone has ever broken a promise that was made to them.
- Tell the child that the Bible is full of promises from God and that He never breaks His promises.
- Tell the child that if we choose to trust and follow God that He has promised never to leave us
Bible Story
- Noah and His family were safe! They had been in the Ark for a long time, but now God said that Noah, his family and the animals could leave the Ark. (Genesis 8: 15-19)
- The first thing that Noah wanted to do was to say “Thank you” to God for keeping him and his family safe through the flood! He did this by collecting some big stones, and piling them on top of each other to build an altar. In Noah’s day people made sacrifices on an altar to thank God for all He had done for them. (Genesis 8: 20-21) What kind of things can we say thank you to God for? (You could make a list of things to thank God for on a piece of paper)
- God was very pleased that Noah and his family remembered to thank Him. He then gave them a wonderful promise, “I will never flood the whole earth again.” (Genesis 8: 21-22)
- Then God showed them something which was to be a reminder of His promise. It was a rainbow. Every time Noah and His family saw a rainbow it reminded them of God’s promise. (Genesis 9: 12-13) Talk about rainbows and their beautiful colours. Encourage the child to think about God and His promises next time they see one.
- Did God keep His promise which he made to Noah? Help the child to understand how God still keeps His promise to be with us when we trust Him.

- Choose a selection of questions from the previous lessons on Noah to see how much the child can remember about the story.
- Revise the Key Verse that the child has learnt while studying the story of Noah.
- The child could draw a picture of their favourite part of the story and/or write a sentence about something they learned.

3D Rainbow
What You Need
- Paper in colors of the rainbow + a white sheet of paper
- Cotton Wool
- Scissors
- Glue
- Tape
Steps
- Cut strips of colorful paper, you will need 7 strips, one of each color if you want to make a true rainbow. Cut two cloud shapes out of white paper.
- Glue the strips in the correct order on one cloud – glue them at the middle of the cloud (the colour order is purple, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red or the other way around). Secure with tape. Glue on the other cloud on the other end of the rainbow paper strips. Secure with tape.
- Fold the strips of paper along the duct tape, this will make it way easier to arch the rainbow later on.
- Apply glue generously on the cloud.Add cotton balls. Be sure to add the cotton balls on the part of the cloud that is under the rainbow as this will make it hold it’s arched shape.
- Do the same on the second cloud.
- The simple 3D paper rainbow is complete!
