Opening

Find out from the children if they have ever created something to solve a problem. Probably they were lonely or bored, and created a toy to play with. Receive the answers from the children. Today’s story is about some men who had a sick man who needed to be healed by Jesus. The room was full and they could not get in. They cut the roof to lower their sick friend so that Jesus could heal him.

Bible Story

● We want to become children who can challenge ourselves to think out of the box. We want to be creative children, who can come up with creative ways to help solve any kind of situation that we may be in. Let us know that God gave us a sound mind that we can use to be
innovative in different ways.
● Our memory verse today teaches us that the power of God is always with us. When we are self-disciplined we will be able to do more and bless many.
● In our Bible story, we learn that one day Jesus was teaching, and the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick.
● Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus.

● When they could not find a way because of the crowd, they went up on the roof, and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
● When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, ‘Friend, your sins are forgiven.’ He added by telling him to get up and take his mat, and go home.
● Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, ‘We have seen remarkable things today.’
● As children of God, let us grow in the knowledge that God created us in love, and with a sound mind. We can do many things, and be innovative in different areas, and be useful to others too. With the knowledge that we have, we can also invite some of our friends who do not come to church, to attend church service with you.
