Opening

  • Ask the children who, parents are. ( A biological or adoptive person who has children in a family setting or someone who bears a
    child)

  • Using plasticine, mould a Parent and a child. You can ask the kids to help you mould, with each of them moulding different parts of the body.

  • Explain to them further who a parent is. The parent is one who moulds their child into a good image. A parent is one who sometimes shares their likeness with their child.

  • Explain to the children ‘ADORE’ is – Adore means to worship, to love and to respect.

  • Tell them we should adore GOD for sending His son to us.

Bible Story

  • God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, to a virgin. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.”
  • Mary was greatly troubled. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
  • “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
  • The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth, your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.”
  • “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.
  • Mary got pregnant by the power of the Holy Spirit, and she gave birth to  Jesus, just as the angel had said. This was a miracle since Mary was a virgin.
  • Jesus’ earthly father was Joseph, but He is eternally the Son of God. Let us worship God for He is truly the LORD, and He can do the impossible. With God nothing is difficult.

What You Need

  • Wooden craft sticks
  • White paper
  • Glue
  • Black marker

Steps

  1. Place two craft sticks together so that they meet at a point and glue.

  2. Glue a smaller piece of the craft stick near the middle of the larger craft sticks to form a letter A.

  3. Trace your hand onto white paper and cut out. Depending on the size of your hand, you may need to trim some of the bottom off to fit on the A for angel’s wings.

  4. Glue the hands to each side of the letter in the back, so that the fingers stick out and make wings for your angel craft.

  5. Cut a small circle from white paper and glue it to your angel at the point of the letter A.

  6. Using a black marker draw a face on your angel craft.
